Welcome to our quarterly
newsletters. This
“Spring Edition” is being sent to you as a courtesy from Custom
Cooling & Heating, Inc.
It is our way of providing our customers with helpful hints
and information needed to achieve the best performance from their
heating and cooling system.
Spring
Season:
Spring is here, along
with allergy season!
Beneficial products/services that you may consider adding to
your home this season, include duct sanitization, a UV light kit,
electrostatic filters and a dehumidistat.
Duct
Sanitization: Your air
conditioning ducts can provide a breeding ground for a variety of
microbial growth such as mold and bacteria. We fog your duct system with
a sanitizing solution that kills living organisms in your duct
work. The cost of this service is
$175.00.
UV Light Kit:
This item helps provide a higher air quality in your home by
reducing mold, bacterial, or viral airborne microbes in all areas of
your air conditioning system.
Ultraviolet light has been used since the 1930’s in many
areas such as hospitals and laboratories, to control air borne
micro-organisms.
A
UV Light is inexpensive to operate and improves your air handler’s
energy efficiency. A
build-up on your evaporator coil can also inhibit air flow, thus
increasing cooling costs.
The cost of a UV Light
Kit is $650.00.
Electrostatic
Filters: These filters remove
small
particles like pollen, tiny dust and smoke that disposable filters leave
behind, leaving the air smelling cleaner. No need to replace costly
filters each month because electrostatic filters are washable! More importantly, they come
with a lifetime warranty!
Depending on the size,
filters range from $175.00 - $225.00.
In order to provide our customers with additional
savings, we have bundled these beneficial products in an Indoor Air
Quality Package. The

Lastly, for our seasonal residents, before returning
home, we highly recommend a Dehumidistat. A Dehumidistat turns the air
conditioner on while you are away to help control moisture when heat
and humidity conditions are high. It is only when you have
high humidity and high temperatures together that you have a problem
with mold/mildew growth.
This will help control that problem and usually will result
in an electric bill of $20 or less a month (while you are
away). The cost for a Dehumidistat is
$90.00.
Helpful
Hints:
Dehumidistat
Operation: For our customers who have a
Dehumidistat. The
following is the proper procedure:
- When away for
an extended period of time:
Set dehumidistat @ 65% and thermostat @ 80 degrees. In this setting, the
dehumidistat becomes your main control and the thermostat becomes
the secondary control.
- When living in
the home or returning to the home for the winter: Set dehumidistat in the
“ON” position and the thermostat at desired room
temperature.
Yearly
Check-ups: Call us 4-6 weeks before
heading north for the summer or before returning in the winter to
schedule your yearly check-up.
We
hope these beneficial product/service recommendations and helpful
hints will save our customers unnecessary costly repairs. It is our goal at Custom
Cooling and Heating, Inc. to provide our customers with the utmost
in customer service and satisfaction. You can also find package
